This past December I rolled out an idea that I have been
thinking about for quite some time. The idea was to form a not-for-profit organization to be known as the Safety & Health Council of the Hudson Valley. The reason that I wanted to create this Council was to mimic/duplicate the efforts that are being put forth by the Capital Region Safety Council in the Albany area as well as the Northern NY Safety Council that is operating in the Adirondack region.
The purpose and goals of this Safety & Health Council are:
- To develop professional relationships among its members;
- To facilitate the free exchange of information and the solution of mutual problems;
- To conduct safety-related programs and activities;
- To strengthen safety programs within member organizations;
- To increase safety awareness in the workforce and the communities in which the council serves, thus reducing the frequency and severity of deaths and disabling injuries,
The Council is just starting out and we are looking for more participation and involvement. Whether you would like to serve with our executive group and help make decisions and choices that will help guide our organization or your company feels a need just to take advantage of our events and can reap the rewards that our Council will offer local businesses like yours.
Participation and membership are FREE! All it will cost you is time, and you will probably agree that your employees are worth it.
